Okowa Condoles Izeze Over Father's Death

Governor of Delta and Vice-Presidential Candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Sen. Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, has commiserated with the Izeze family of Oginibo in Ughelli South Local Government Area of the State on the passing of their patriarch, Pa Godwin Izeze.

Izeze, a retired soldier, died at 77 at a Warri Hospital on Friday, after a brief illness.

The gôvernor particularly commiserated with Comrade Reuben Izeze, the member representing Ughelli South Constituency in Delta House of Assembly on the demise of the retired soldier, his father.

In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Olisa Ifeajika in Asaba, Okowa said that the deceased was a quintessential father and disciplinarian who ensured that the children got the best of education and sound moral upbringing.

He said that late Izeze, a devout Christian and community leader, stood for justice for all in the community, adding that he would be greatly missed.

“On behalf of my family, the government and people of Delta, I commiserate with the Izeze family of Oginibo on the passing of their patriarch, Pa Godwin Izeze, whose sad event occurred on Friday.

“Pa Izeze was a disciplinarian who ensured that his children were educated and received sound moral upbringing.

“His contribution to integration of the country and nation-building remains the greatest part of his life as he served in the Nigerian Army and retired as a Sergeant.

“It is my prayer that God will grant fortitude to our lawmaker, Reuben Izeze and family members as well as Oginibo community to bear his demise,” Okowa stated.
