Okowa Okays Approved Housing Loans For Workers In Delta
Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has approved an upward review of existing loans for all categories of workers under the Delta State Public Officers’ Housing Loan Scheme (POHLS).
Head of Service (HOS), Reginald Bayoko, communicated the approval via a circular referenced HOS 14/2/1/Vol.1/T2/5 and dated August 4, 2022, issued and signed by him at the weekend in Asaba.
He said the governor’s gesture was to mitigate the suffering of workers seeking accommodation in the state.

While lauding Okowa for the move, the HoS said the approval was a testament to the governor’s commitment to promoting the welfare and housing needs of public servants.
Details of the new rates as contained in the memo indicate that officers on salary Grade Levels (GLs) 01 to 06 are now eligible for a housing loan of N3 million from N1.5 million, GLs 07 to12 are entitled to access the N4 million against the old rate of N2 million, while those on GL 13 and above are due for N5 million as against previous N2.5 million facility.
