Uneasy Calm In APC, PDP As Osun Tribunal Delivers Judgment Today

There is anxiety in the camps of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State, ahead of today’s judgment in the July 16, 2022 governorship poll by the Election Petition Tribunal.
Former governor, Adegboyega Oyetola had challenged the victory of Sen. Ademola Adeleke in his petition before the tribunal chaired by Justice Tertse Kume.
He alleged over-voting in 749 polling units and raised questions on the authenticity of the certificate of the winner.
A notice of judgment of the tribunal was disclosed by its Secretary, David Umaru, as contained in a correspondence pasted at the entrance of the tribunal on Tuesday.

The leadership of the APC in the state had directed members to embark on seven days prayer and fasting for a favourable result. The Acting Chairman, Tajudeen Lawal, preached peace ahead of today’s judgment.
The Special Assistant to Governor Adeleke, Oladele Bamiji, expressed confidence ahead of today’s judgment.
He said: “Considering our defence at the tribunal, we will win. I urge our members and supporters to be calm and abide by the laws.”
The police command has assured residents of security of lives and property.
Spokesperson SP Yemisi Opalola, in a statement yesterday in Osogbo, warned troublemakers to steer clear of the state and the court premises.
