BREAKING: Kogi Lawmaker Dies In Lagos, Deputy Speaker Reacts
Hon. Jimoh Musa Omiata, a member of the Kogi State House of Assembly who represented the Yagba East local government area, has passed away.
Oasis Magazine gathered that Omiata was the first person to ever be re-elected to the State House of Assembly from the State constituency. Omiata was a two-time member of the State House of Assembly and was from the Igbagun community in the Yagba East LGA of the State.
The lawmaker passed away in Lagos, according to a family source who confirmed his passing, while recovering from a mysterious illness he had been suffering for some time.
Musa Omiata was until his death, chairman, House Committee on Information, Strategy and Publicity of the House of Assembly.
Reacting, Kogi Deputy Speaker, Rt Hon Alfa Momoh Rabiu described as sad, the death of his colleague.

Consoling the deceased immediate family, friends and constituents, Hon Rabiu said Omiata who died last night in Lagos after a brief illness was a friendly and articulate legislator who strengthened the ties of kinship.
Hon Rabiu noted that Omiata was a pacifier of the sixth and seventh assembly, his characters were upright and that he would be missed sorely.
He said the people of Yagba East have indeed lost a fine parliamentarian and statesman, praying God accept his soul and grant him eternal life in paradise.
