Delta LECAN Installs Chief Erakpotobor As Patron State Monitoring Team

The Licensed Electrical Contractors Association of Nigeria (LECAN Delta), on Wednesday installed a notable chief in Abraka, High Chief Peterman Erakpotobor as patron of the association’s State Monitoring Team.

The event took place at Gordon’s Resort Motel, Abraka.

Speaking during the event, Chairman, LECAN, Delta State, Engr. Abboy Oyiagbevwen, commended, Chief Erakpotobor for his uncommon input to the group, while urging him to do more.

Highpoint of the occasion was the installation and decoration of the new patron. The group also presented an ‘Award of Excellence’ to the Abraka chief.

Responding to the gesture, the new patron, commended presenters of the award for the recognition.

While dedicating the award to Young and Kizito, the community leader, said when the association began in Abraka, they did not envisage that it will get to this level.

He recalled how he encouraged them in the university town to continue during the beginning days when they were bedeviled with several challenges.

He assured the group that he will work with them even more and promised to abide by the organization’s rules.

Furthermore, he noted that as patron, one of his duties is to advice, adding that he is hopeful that they will listen to him when the need arises.

The host of the event also presented an ‘Award of Excellence’ to Engr. Oyiagbevwen.

Reacting, the State Chairman promised to continue to serve and do the right things as he pilots the affairs of LECAN.

Dignitaries present at the event include CEO, Steve Nnam Motors, Chief Steve Onwugbonu, Ubogu Onome Samuel, Bright Ubogu, Chief Matthew Itigha, Chief Kingsley Nikoro and Mr. Kingsley Ighoyivwi.

Speaking to journalists, the Chairman, Abraka Unit, LECAN and Chairman of the State Monitoring Team, Mr. Young Solomon, said he was excited that the new patron was honored, adding that Chief Erakpotobor as done much work in moving the body forward.

On the award presented to the State Chairman, he said that since he assumed office, he has done noble.

He said: “He has given us an office alongside furniture. He also bought a. patrol van for us. He is also one of the persons that made sure that LECAN is viable in Abraka.”

Speaking on the strides of the monitoring team, he said: “Our efforts have yielded results. We have stopped many illegal connection.”

Meanwhile, he called on Benin Electricity Distribution Company, BEDC, to ensure that their casual workers should desist from illegal works and that their contractors must be prevented from using substandard materials when delivering on their jobs.
