5000 Candidates Write Entrance Exam Into Model Schools In Delta

A total of 5,000 candidates in Delta State wrote the 2023 Entrance Examination into the various 17 Model Secondary Schools in the State.

The Entrance Examination, which was conducted by the State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education in the designated centres across the state, was for candidates seeking admission into JS 1 and JS 2 and SS 1 and SS 2 classes respectively .

The Permanent Secretary in Ministry, Mr. Augustine Oghoro monitored in the State Capital and other parts of Delta North , while the Director of Examination and Standard, Mr. Sunday Egomagwuna and other officials of the Ministry monitored in Delta Central and Delta South Senatorial Districts.

Speaking to newsmen shortly after monitoring the examination, Mr. Oghoro expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the examination, describing the exercise as peaceful and hitch free.

Oghoro lauded the candidates for their comportment during the examination, adding that the officials of the Ministry also displayed high sense of commitment and dedication to duty.

The PS said that candidates that met the minimum admission requirements that would be released would be admitted into any of the Model Secondary Schools of their choice in September when the 2023/2024 Academic Session would commence.

Oghoro explained that any serious minded candidate would pass the examination with ease and reiterated the State Government’s avowed determination to take the education sector to greater heights.

The Director of Examination and Standard, Mr. Sunday Egomagwuna, who monitored in Delta Central and South Senatorial Districts, said that examination materials were adequate.

Egomagwuna noted that the Department of Examination and Standard was irrevocably committed to improving in the conduct of examination.

He said that there would be timely release of results and wished the candidates success.
