Environmental Sanitation Holds In Delta
The monthly environmental sanitation exercise for August will hold across Delta State on Saturday, August 26, 2023, between the hours of 7.00 a.m. and 10.00 a.m.
In addition, the Ministry of Environment will carry out a special sanitation exercise in Oshimili South, Warri South and Aniocha North Local Government Areas of the state while other local government areas will also be monitored by relevant state government officials.
During the exercise, there will be restriction of vehicular and human movements, except those on essential duties, and residents are advised to clean up their immediate surroundings, de-silt drains and ensure proper disposal of waste as well as fumigate their premises.

A statement signed by the Director of Public Communication in the Ministry of Information, Mrs Theresa Oliko, indicated that the Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Ejiro Jamani, the Permanent Secretary, Dr Minnie Oseji, staff of the ministry and other relevant authorities would monitor the clean- up exercise.
The statement added that officials of the Delta State Waste Management Board, local government councils and other relevant authorities would evacuate the resultant refuse to approved dump sites in the state.
It warned that those found not taking part in the exercise would be brought before mobile magistrate courts and prosecuted accordingly.
