Police Kill Kidnapper, Arrest Armed Robbers Terrorising Warri, Environs
Delta State Police Command Tuesday killed a notorious kidnapper and arrested suspected armed robbers terrorising Warri axis of the state and its environs.
Parading suspects with various criminal offenses ranging from kidnapping to armed robbery in Asaba, the state Police Public Relations Officer PPRO (DSP), Bright Edafe, said the hoodlums were arrested during the stop and search at FUPRE junction, Effurun.
He said , “On the 29/7/2023, while police patrol team attached to Ebrumede Police station were on stop and search duty at Fupre junction Effurun, they flagged down a Lexus car for their routine stop and search.
“The occupants of the vehicle immediately jumped down from the vehicle with one of them bearing a double barrel gun and tried to escape and some of the policemen gave them a hot chase during which the suspect bearing the firearm was neutralised while others escaped.
He added that, “On a closer look at the vehicle, a kidnapped victim was seen blindfolded and was rescued and taken to the Police station.”
