Eyekpimi Calls For Proper Channeling Of Drainages In Okumagba Layout

The President of Okere Urhobo Development Movement, Comrade Brume Eyekpimi has called on the Warri , Uvwie and Environs Special Area Development Agency to chanel drainages in Okumagba Layout in Warri South Local Government Area properly.

He made the call at a press briefing at the youth secretariat in Otor-rere ( headquarters of Okere Urhobo Kingdom ) last weekend.

The youth leader of Okere Urhobo Kingdom, identified improper channeling of drainages to canals as one of the major causes flooding in Okumagba Layout.

He mentioned the adversely affected streets in the layout to include : Peggy, Ojugo, Okiti Umukoko among other off Apala Road.

Eyekpimi lamented that flood had sacked residents of the said areas who he also said have lost their properties to the flood.

He stated that the said areas were occupied by flood days when it has stopped raining.

The President of Okere Urhobo Development Movement then called for the proper channeling of drainages in affected streets to the massive newly constructed canals in Fani – Kayode / Edjeba in order to put an end to the perennial flood menace.

He also on behalf of victims of the flood, appealed for relief materials to assuage their sufferings.
