The heroic tanker driver, Ejiro Otarigho who put his life at risk in 2022 to save lives and property worth billions of naira in Agbarho, Delta state is said to be in critical condition.

Recall that he drove a burning tanker from the densely populated area in the said community.

Oasis Magazine learnt that Otarigho is presently in a critical condition after he was involved in an accident wth his private vehicle along the East West Road.

His spine is said to be badly affected.

A post on Facebook read: “This is when he needs us most; let’s reach out to him and show him some love. He may need our little financial support, wheel chair and medical facilities to get back to his normal self. Please let’s help this good man to be able to walk again.

Oasis Magazine spoke to the victim’s wife, Augustina, in a telephone conversation.

She said the accident occured on the 4th of September in Agbarho on his way back home after he went out breifly.

Continuing, she said that a surgery after the accident was carried out on him, saying it led to a complication.

Adding: “We are trying to handle it.”

Asked what it will cost financially for the said operation, she said the hospital demanded about 2 million.

According to her, the present hospital were he is, is not giving him the proper medical care he needs and that they plan to move him to another hospital but finance was a big issue.

“It has not been easy. For the past one year after the tanker incident, he has not been going to work. I just want my husband back on his feet,” she said.
