Uvwie LGC Chairmanship Contest: Ukuwrere Gets UGIU, Abugewa Blessings

The chances of leading Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) Uvwie Local Government Council chairmanship aspirant Chief Austin Ukuwrere winning the contest got a boost as he got the blessings of the apex socio cultural body of Uvwie Kingdom, Uvwie General Improvement Union (UGIU) and former chairman of Uvwie Local Government Council, Chief ( Hon ) Peter Abugewa.

Ukuwrere who is the immediate past President General of Uvwie General Improvement Union (UGIU) got the blessings and prayers during his consultation visits to the executive of UGIU and Chief Peter Abugewa on Thursday, 19th October, 2023 .

The President General of UGIU Chief Abovi Hope Erute who spoke at the event, acknowledged that Chief Ukuwrere was tested and trusted and therefore was the right candidate for the number one political seat in Uvwie Local Government Area.

Erute who is a member of Delta State Advisory And Peace Building Council however urged Chief Ukuwrere to improve on the achievements of the incumbent chairman of the local government council, Hon Ramson Onoyake.

Likewise, one time chairman of Uvwie Local Government Council, Chief Peter Abugewa in his brief speech during Chief Ukuwrere’s visit, also stated that Chief Ukuwrere will be a square peg in a square hole for Uvwie Local Government Council chairmanship position.

He also added that Chief Ukuwrere has served PDP and the party leaders dutifully.

Ukuwrere had in his response, thanked Chief Erute and Chief Abugewa for their kind remarks , blessings and prayers.

He however stated that he will doll out his manesfesto at the right time and that he was on a consultation visit on his ambition.
