JUST IN: 24 Lawmakers Withdraw Impeachment Notice Against Gov Fubara
Members of the Rivers State House of Assembly have withdrawn the impeachment notice against Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
The 24 lawmakers at their resumed sitting at the assembly quarters in Port Harcourt said their change of heart was in compliance with the resolution brokered by President Bola Tinubu.
In the notice of withdrawal read on the house floor, the lawmakers said the decision was made out of respect for the President.

Recall that the lawmakers commenced impeachment proceedings on the 30th of October 2023, less than 24 hours after the house assembly complex was attacked and 6 weeks before defecting to the All Progressives Congress.
