FG Set To Commence Student Loans Scheme
The Federal Government is set to launch the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, to operationalise Students loan scheme.
Executive Secretary of the Student Loan Board Akintunde Sawyerr stated this while briefing State House Correspondent after meeting with President Bola Tinubu.
The legislation provides for the establishment of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, which will have the power to administer, supervise, coordinate, and monitor the management of student loans in the country.
The Loan is expected to be Sourced from the Education tax.
The Intervention is required to impact on the lives of Nigerians who are willing to study but cannot afford Education.
Based on the provisions of the legislation, the fund is expected to receive and screen applications for student loans.
