Kpedi Holds Peace Basketball Camp For Children

A United States (US) Urhobo born former Nigeria basketball international, Andy Kpedi has held a 2-day peace basketball camp for children in Warri South, Uvwie Local Government Area and environs.

The 3rd edition of the event featured : free throws, drunk, pointer and go for it skills in the game of basketball at Akporaro Estate, Ugberikoko, Uvwie Local Government on 22nd and 23rd March, 2024.

Nigeria’s pioneer National basketball coach, legendary coach OBJ was invited from Zaria, Kaduna State to coach the participants of what he knows how to do best.

Kpedi who spoke to our correspondent, explained that the annual event tagged Peace Academy NG International Basketball Camp was aimed at fostering peace among the youths in the area.

He asserted that without peace no meaningful development can take place in the society.

The sixfooter basketball coach also stated that the event was aimed at grooming participants in sound mental and physical health.

He solicited for the support of parents of the participants in allowing them to part take in the basketball camping event and in providing sports shoes.

Kpedi however gladly informed that he has provided customised t-shirts, sports shoes, as well as feeding for participants who he said also have knowledge in the game of basketball through the annual event.

He also called on government to give supporting hand as he said that he cannot provide for all.

Coach OBJ who spoke to our correspondent gladly proudly remarked that Andy Kpedi was given back to the society what he got from in the game of basketball.

He solicited a support for him from government.

Coach Carlos Idike, Coach Gbowen also impacted their knowledge in the game of basketball to the kids at the 2 day camping event.

The event featured exaltation and prayers to God by participants who also prayed for Andy Kpedi for the gesture.
