Osubi Airport Manager Wins Best Airport Manager Award

The Manager of Osubi Airport, Mr Winston Egwuatu has pledged to continue to ensure the safety, security and comfort of air passengers.

Mr. Egwuatu made the pledge during his acceptance speech shortly after receiving the Best Airport Manager Award at the 13th Nigeria Aviation Award (NIGAV) award ceremony.

The award was presented to him Mr. Festus Keyamo,(SAN) Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Managemen.

Osubi Airport is located at Osubi Community in Okpe Local Government Area near Effurun in Delta State..

Mr. Egwuatu said that the award was a testament of his passion, professionalism and excellent leadership skills in the aviation industry garnered over the years.

He said that under his leadership with the support of staff, Osubi Airport also won the 12th edition of the NIGAV award as the Most Improved Airport in Nigeria.

The manager noted that the feat came just after a year that he took over the affairs of the moribund airport that was grounded for about 17 months and made it viable and serviceable.

According to Mr. Egwuatu, “the Osubi Airport under my leadership also won the 12th NIGAV award as the Most Improved Airport in Nigeria.

“The Osubi Airport has achieved tremendous transformation in all areas of its operation under my leadership The airport remains one of the best maintained aerodrome facility in Nigeria.

“The progress made by the Airport management under my watch has been achieved fully from the funds generated from the Internally Generated Revenue of the airport,” Egwuatu said.

Responding to the victory, Mr Ofulue Kasiemobi L., Head of Human Resources, Osubi Airport congratulated Mr Egwuatu on the milestone.

He noted that with the manager’s kind of drive and passion, it was right to say that Osubi Airport was in safe hands adding that it could only get better.
