54 Bag First Class Degrees, As DELSU Holds 16th Convocation

Delta State University, DELSU, Abraka, has produced 54 first class graduates from a total of 4,776 students who graduated from the institution.

The Vice-Chancellor of Delta State University, Prof. Andy Egwunyenga made this known on Saturday at the institution’s 16th Convocation Ceremony for the award of diplomas, first degrees, higher degrees, investiture of Professor Emeritus and award of prizes for the 2022/2023 academic session.

Egwunyenga noted that there were 54 first class graduates, saying a total of 1207 students made second class upper, 1835 bagged second class lower and 380 bagged third class honours.

Continuing, Egwunyenga said that a convocation ceremony provides an enabling platform for the institution to unfold its strengths, weakness, opportunities and threats to stakeholders.

Meanwhile, he thanked the immediate past governor, Ifeanyi Okowa for approving the recommendation for his appointment, saying the opportunity did not only enable him achieve his dream of becoming VC of a university but provided him the opportunity to contribute his quota to university administration in Delta State and by extension the whole country.

He noted that the university has come of age as DELSU is now a household name.

Adding: “Our graduands, no doubt have been known to have proven their mettle in various fields of endeavours.”

Notably, Ilebe Joshua emerged best graduating students with a 4.83 CGPA.
