Nigerian Legion Installs Abe 1 Life Grand Patron

Nigerian Legion, Uvwie Local Government Area Chapter has installed HRM Dr Emmanuel Ekemejewa Sideso( JP )OON Abe 1, the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom has its life grand patron.

The installation took place at the posh palace of the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom, GRA Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area on Monday 13th May, 2024.

The chairman of the legionary in Uvwie Local Government Area, Chief ( Captain ) Robertson Ekemejewan Akpojovwo ( rtd ) in his brief speech shortly before the installation, explained that it was the practice of Nigerian legionary to install a traditional ruler as its life grand patron in every local government area in Nigeria.

The retired Nigerian Army Captain who is also a respected chief of Uvwie Kingdom stated that the legionary in Uvwie Local Government Area was fortunate to have a reputable traditional ruler in Uvwie Local Government Area in Abe 1 just as he extolled the virtues of HRM Dr Emmanuel Ekemejewa Sideso JP OON, Abe 1, the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom who said that his popularity and recognition is nation wide.

“It is therefore a great privilege for us to install HRM Dr Emmanuel Ekemejewa Sideso JP OON, Abe 1, the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom as our life grand patron,” he added.

Akpojovwo who disclosed that he was elected as chairman of the group in last February, vowed that he made the legionary one of the best in the country.

The Usavwre ( traditional key ) of Etche R ‘ Erovie ( tradititioal representative unit ) in Uvwie Kingdom, High Chief Rex Eju who spoke on behalf of the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom, appreciated the members of Nigerian Legion Uvwie Local Government Area Chapter for the installation.

He advised members of the group to always dress in the uniforms of their respective services anytime they are attending occasion.

The Secretary to Uvwie Traditional Council of Chiefs, Dr Chief Samuel Jimoh Eshenake JP, who is also one of aides of the traditional ruler and the Unuevworo ( traditional mouthpiece ) of Etche R ‘ Ohorie ( traditional representative unit ) in Uvwie Kingdom, in his brief speech at the historic event, noted that the Uvwie monarch does not often accept such honours and that the traditional ruler accepted the honour because according to him, legionary was also about security.

The Uvwie high chief therefore advised that the legionaries should be security focused in Uvwie Local Government Area.

On his part, the Unuevworo (traditional mouthpiece ) of Etche R ‘ Erovie , High Chief Sunday Agbugbu ( JP) who is also the chairman of Ovie of Uvwie palace court of arbitration, advised legionaries in Uvwie Local Government Area to respect constituted authorities as he reported a case of a retired Army officer ( names witheld ) who he alleged to have refused to honour an invitation to the Ovie of Uvwie Palace Court of Arbitration.

Dr ( Chief ) Samuel Jimoh Eshenake JP earlier read the rich citation of the Chairman of Nigerian Legion Uvwie Local Government Area Chapter, Chief Captain Robertson Ekemejewan Akpojovwo.

High point of the event was the presentation of a plaque and medal to the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom by Chief Captain Robertson Ekemejewan Akpojovwo.
