One Year In Office: Gov. Oborewovri On The Right Side Of History, Says Oforbrukueta

In view of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s quest to grow the infrastructure base and other sectors of the economy of Delta State, the immediate past Chairman of Ethiope East Local Government, Hon. Pharm Victor Oforbrukueta, yesterday, said Governor Oborewovri is on the right side of history.

Oforbrukueta, who is speaking on the side line of the Governor’s one year in office, noted that with the way the Governor lead Deltans with grace, class and elegance within the past one year, there was no doubt that he came prepared for governance.

He said inter-alia: “ As soon as he came on board, Governor Oborevwori showed clear vision of what he intended to do. First, by building on the legacy of past governors and also charting his own path in order to show the stuff he is made of. One of the paths we have seen so far is his quest to grow the infrastructure base of Delta State.”

He highlighted some of the achievements of the governor to include the construction of mega bridges by Julius Berger in Warri and Effurun as well construction of roads, execution of vital projects across Delta, N40 billion pensions for local government retirees, recruitment of about 2,000 LG personnel, payment of bursary to over 30,000 students in tertiary institutions, payment of N5 billion promotion arrears to civil servants among sundry initiatives.

The former council boss added: “We commend the governor and urge him to continue in to raise the bar in governance such that even after eight years of his tenure, Oborewovri will enjoy the kind of respect that Ogbemudia of blessed memory enjoys in old Bendel State on account of the Palm House, which today stands like the rock of Gibraltar.

“We enjoin him to do MORE in line with his wonderful mantra and admonish Deltans to make the state peaceful so that he will be able to articulate more ideas to grow the state and enhance the infrastructural base of the entire state.”

While congratulating the governor on his successful one year in office, Pharm Oforbrukueta admonished Deltans to give him the necessary support so that at the end of his tenure, he will leave Delta better than he met.
