Nigeria At 64: Okekpolo Tasks Tinubu On Inclusive Policies

Nigeria’s 64th independence anniversary is a significant milestone, and Ambassador Ogochuku Okekpolo, the Pioneer Director of the International Forum for Women in Energy, Oil and Gas Delta State Chapter, is urging President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to prioritize inclusive policies.
This call to action emphasizes the need for policies that promote national cohesion, address economic instability, and tackle corruption
Ogochuku asserted in a statement made available to the media on Tuesday in Warri Delta State, highlighting security concerns, economic instability, corruption, inequality, poverty, and climate change as Nigeria’s nightmare.
She observed that acts of violence and discrimination based on race, ethnicity, immigration status, and religion are increasingly alarming globally and present a risk to humanity,

She continued: “Therefore, I am urging President Ahmed Tinubu’s administration to integrate comprehensive security cooperation and inclusive policies that engender social cohesion, economic growth, political stability, and human rights protection.”
She stated, “As President Tinubu marks this year’s independence anniversary, the nation looks forward to seeing tangible progress on these fronts, maintaining that Inclusive nation-building fosters a sense of belonging, promotes social justice, and ensures equal opportunities for all citizens”.
While reiterating this year’s theme of “Celebrating Unity in Diversity,” she noted that with a renewed focus on inclusive policies, Nigeria could harness its diversity and potential, fostering a brighter future for all citizens.
Recall that Ambassador Okekpolo’s plea resonates with various groups, including Team New Nigeria (TNN) and the Africa Network for Environment and Economic Justice (ANEEJ), who are also advocating for inclusive governance and anti-corruption efforts.
