Onos Loyalists Meets In Oria, As Okakuro Sunday Onoriode Calls For More Unity, Growth
Okakuro Sunday E. Onoriode, the Isio of Umiaghwa Abraka Kingdom and Director of Protocol to the Delta State Governor, on Sunday attended the monthly meeting of Onos Loyalists at Ward 3, Oria, where he called for greater unity and growth of the group.
Onos Loyalists is a political pressure group led by Chief Dr. Kingsley Okpako, one of the Executive Assistants to the Delta State Governor, with Okakuro Sunday E. Onoriode serving as its principal leader.
While addressing the gathering, Onoriode remarked, “I am delighted to see such a large turnout gathered here in support of Ono’s Loyalists.”

He acknowledged the diverse composition of the group, including men, women, and youths (boys and girls) who have excelled in various fields: business, education, craftsmanship, and more.
“This is my first time attending a meeting of this group, and I am truly overwhelmed by the enthusiasm and unity here,” he said.
Onoriode reflected on the group’s journey, recalling its humble beginnings in February 2006.
“Back then, Abraka was an epicenter for opposition. It was challenging to freely identify as a PDP member,” he shared.
To reorientate the youths away from vices like smoking, Onoriode provided stipends to encourage them to pursue meaningful activities and introduced them to the ideals and vision of the Onos Loyalists group.
He also highlighted a foundation created to support the education of underprivileged children, many of whom have progressed from primary school to higher institutions.
During the meeting, over 60 new members from across Ethiope East were welcomed, and the gathering concluded with a closing prayer led by Rev. Dr. Godwin Omegwe.
In attendance, in no particular order, were Hon. Chief Prince Igho Erhabor, SSA on Youth Development; Chief Dr. Kingsley Okpako, EA to the Executive Governor of Delta State and National Coordinator of the group; Hon. Chief Lucky Emore, Supervisory Councilor for Environment, Ethiope East; Hon.
