Saudi Arabia Boosts Humanitarian Aid To Gaza, Lebanon, Sudan Amid Ongoing Crises

Saudi Arabia has significantly intensified its humanitarian support to Gaza, Lebanon, and Sudan, providing critical relief to millions affected by conflict, economic hardship, and displacement in these regions.

The Saudi Arabian Embassy in Nigeria announced on Thursday that the Kingdom, through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief), is delivering large-scale aid packages to help vulnerable populations face the challenges they are enduring with renewed hope and resilience.

In Gaza, where humanitarian needs are at critical levels due to the ongoing conflict, KSrelief has launched an extensive relief mission, deploying over 54 aid planes and 8 ships loaded with emergency food, medical supplies, and shelter materials. Aid items include 20 ambulances, 30 electricity generators, and 10 water tanks, aimed at providing immediate relief. Additionally, KSrelief has distributed 39,200 ready-to-eat meals to meet urgent nutritional needs, particularly for displaced families facing severe food shortages. The Kingdom has also committed over $80 million for long-term projects in Gaza in partnership with international organizations such as UNRWA, WHO, and ICRC to support food security, health, and water infrastructure.

In Lebanon, where the economic collapse has exacerbated hardship for millions, KSrelief’s 20th aid plane recently arrived in Beirut, delivering essential supplies to support food, medical, and shelter needs. With the economic crisis worsened by regional instability, Saudi Arabia’s support extends to medical facilities, providing critical supplies to hospitals and healthcare centers facing severe shortages. KSrelief’s efforts aim to stabilize Lebanon’s health and food systems amid the broader regional crisis.

In Sudan, where prolonged conflict and displacement have impacted large parts of the population, Saudi Arabia has sent 13 planes and 31 relief vessels carrying food, health supplies, shelter materials, and other essentials. The aid, valued at over $118 million, reflects Saudi Arabia’s commitment to supporting Sudanese families through instability, with programs that strengthen local healthcare and food security systems as part of a long-term recovery plan.
