By Young Erhiurhoro
Unenurhie community in Evwreni kingdom in Ughelli North LGA of Delta state has fully reconciled with the clan head, HRM, Oghenekevwe Kumane, Eruvwedede 111, the Ovie of Evwreni kingdom in a joyous way.
The reconciliation move which was recently taken by the new Odion’Rode of Evwreni kingdom, High Chief James Amuke, the Otota of Unenurhie community, Chief Frank Imudje and the president-general of Unenurhie community, Mr. Peter Maison on behalf of the entire community yielded fruitful results at the end of the day.
Speaking on behalf of the Unenurhie delegation which comprised the elders, women leaders, youth leaders and the UCDU, both the headquarters and some of the branches during the reconciliation meeting held at the king’s palace in Evwreni town, the president-general of Unenurhie community, Mr. Peter Maison first presented the newly installed Odion’Rode of Evwreni kingdom, High Chief James Amuke to the monarch and his chiefs for official recognition and prayers as the due process.

Thereafter, the PG who was in high hope over the meeting said,
“My revered monarch, having presented our new Odion’Rode to you as the Ovie of Evwreni kingdom, the second issue that brought the Unenurhie people to your palace today is to fully reconcile with you as our clan head and royal father in the kingdom. At first, we were misled by somebody whom we thought was a good leader. Little did we know he was only using us as a tool to achieve his political dreams and to also grab the leadership of our community and later to dump us inside the pit. That man is only known in the entire Evwreni kingdom for causing division, enmity and crises. He was the same person that caused this rift between the Unenurhie people and you. Today, our royal father, we have realized our mistakes and discovered the right part. This is why we, the Unenurhie people came for reconciliation with you to accept us back as part of your kingdom because only one tree can’t make a forest and a tree can’t stand without the power of the soil.”
In his response, the monarch who was full of joy thanked the leaders of Unenurhie community for realizing themselves early that they were on the wrong part and now they want to follow the right part. Hear him,
“Let me first welcome the Odion’Rode of Evwreni kingdom. In the entire kingdom, after the Ovie of Evwreni kingdom, the next traditional leader in the hierarchy is the Odion’Rode of Evwreni kingdom and he’s usually produced from Unenurhie community. Therefore, on behalf of my chiefs and the entire Evwreni kingdom, I happily welcome the Odion’Rode as presented by the Unenurhie people as the new Odion’Rode of Evwreni kingdom. Now coming to the issue of reconciliation as pleaded by your PG, I never had any physical rift with the Unenurhie people. The misunderstanding on ground was that, the Unenurhie people followed a person whom the entire Evwreni kingdom has already noticed for his evil ways. Apart from this, Unenurhie community hasn’t done me anything wrong. Therefore, as the clan head and your royal father, I have forgiven you all and happily accept you all back to the kingdom. Unenurhie community is part of Evwreni kingdom and we won’t allow any person to create division, enmity and crises for us henceforth. Unenurhie people are my subjects.”
The reconciliation meeting which took many hours in the palace ended with joy as the Ovie of Evwreni kingdom, HRM, Oghenekevwe Kumane, Eruvwedede 111 offered traditional prayers for kola nuts and drinks for both the leaders of Unenurhie community, palace chiefs and other dignitaries that present during the reconciliation meeting.
Amongst those that witnessed the reconciliation meeting in the king’s palace were, Chief Joseph Aduge, the Iyasere of Evwreni kingdom, Chief Gorden Ogbovwan, palace spokesman, Chief Simon Eyagborigho, palace secretary, Chief Emmanuel Gegere, Hon. Prince Ochuko Kumane, Chief C. Ukpebitere and host of other chiefs and kingmakers.
