Daughter Of Zion Begins Operations After Two Weeks Shut Down Over Death Of CEO

Daughter of Zion Food and Catering Services (Indoor and Outdoor), Abraka, Delta State has reopened for business two weeks after they closed shop following the shocking death of the Chief Executive Officer, Mrs. Evelyn Ogah.

The CEO died from an undisclosed illness in Edo State where she was undergoing treatment. She was in her late 40s.

This reporter visited the eatery on Wednesday.

Speaking to Oasis Magazine, Mr Ojie Promise, the Auditor, explained that they had to shut down for two weeks to mourn their leader and boss.

He said: “We cannot question God on what happened; death is inevitable to anyone and also it can come anytime, any day at any point in time but the issue we are talking about here is a great one that we lost.”

He continued: “She has touched the hearts of many people. Even when in hospital bed, she still kept on giving people food from there, and we have still been giving people food because she said that that is the calling and that she will never stop doing good.

“It’s quite unfortunate it happened that way and the CEO died without saying a word but God knows the best. We love her so much and we miss her so much but God loves her most. Whatever that has happened we are only being consoled by the Holy Ghost concerning the death… God giveth and God taketh. It is not easy to forget her; it is not easy to bear the loss because it is a life that touched people even beyond Abraka.”

According to him, they have made up their minds not to allow her legacies die, saying: “We shall take the courage to continue from where she stopped because she left many legacies of which this business is one and we have encouraged ourselves that we will not let it die so that wherever she is, her spirit will be happy that we did not get discouraged to stop the business.”

He added: “Everything is moving smoothly; she is a woman that has already structured everything; she put things in place”

Meanwhile, he hinted that they did not open on their own accord, just as he disclosed that the late CEO’s husband, Mr. Ogah has met with them and encouraged them to go ahead so that the vision will not die.

“So right now, the husband still needs more encouragement to bear the great loss of the wife. It has not been easy for him because something great has left him,” he said.
