Admiralty University VC Pays Courtesy Visit To Obi Of Ogwashi-Uku

The newly appointed Vice Chancellor of Admiralty University of Nigeria, Professor Chris Ogbogbo, has paid a courtesy visit to His Royal Majesty, Obi (Dr.) Ifechukwude Aninshi Okonjo II, the Obi of Ogwashi-Uku Kingdom.
The visit, which took place at the Palace in Ogwashi-Uku, was aimed at strengthening ties with the host community and introducing the new Vice Chancellor to the traditional leadership of the Kingdom.
Professor Ogbogbo was accompanied by members of the University’s executive management team and was warmly received by the Obi and members of the Obi-in-Council.
His Majesty congratulated Professor Ogbogbo on his emergence as Vice Chancellor after what he described as “a keenly contested and merit-based selection process.”
The Obi expressed delight that the new Vice Chancellor is a distinguished son of Ogwashi-Uku, noting that his appointment is a source of immense pride for the community.
“We are proud of your achievements, and we believe that your leadership will usher in a new era of growth and excellence for Admiralty University,” the Monarch stated.
He further pledged the full and unconditional support of the Ogwashi-Uku community to ensure the continued success of the University.

“The Palace and the people of Ogwashi-Uku are committed to working closely with the University to promote peace, academic development, and mutual progress,” he said.
Members of the Obi-in-Council also welcomed Professor Ogbogbo and his team.
They commended the University’s leadership for the visit and reiterated the community’s long-standing position regarding the location of Admiralty University, affirming that the land upon which the institution stands is within Ogwashi-Uku territory.
While noting that legal proceedings on the matter are ongoing, the Council assured the University of their cooperation pending a peaceful or judicial resolution.
In his remarks, Professor Ogbogbo expressed gratitude for the warm reception and pledged to lead the University with vision and integrity.
He assured the traditional leadership that the University would remain a responsible partner in the development of Ogwashi-Uku and would work to deepen community-university relations.
The visit concluded with an exchange of goodwill, photographs, and a renewed spirit of collaboration between Admiralty University and the Ogwashi-Uku Kingdom.
