Esiso: Okowa Didn’t Give Me Directive To Reconstitute, Reclaim PDP Structure In Delta, It’s Fake News

By Daniel Dafe
Former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Delta State, Olorogun (Barr.) Kingsley Esiso, has denied receiving any directive from the immediate past Governor of the State, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, to reconstitute and reclaim the structure of the PDP in the state.
He said this during a phone conversation with Oasis Magazine on Saturday, while reacting to reports by some online media platforms that alleged that Esiso has been given the mandate to resuscitate PDP in the state.
Responding to questions, he denied getting any such directive from the former governor, saying he had not spoken to the ex-governor on the matter in any way.
Stating that it is fake news, he said: “It is all over the Internet and I just laughed when I read it because when I saw it, the story did not make sense.”
Furthermore, he also denied nursing the intention to vie for the Delta Senatorial seat.
He continued: “Who becomes who in life is determined by God; I have never told anybody I am contesting election.”

Asked to comment on the recent movement of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and other party bigwigs to the All Progressives Congress, APC and the collapse of PDP structure in the state, he said: “I am in APC now and that’s all. I can speak for myself I’m in APC now.”
On the refusal of some strong party members to move over to the APC, he said: “I don’t know of any and so I cannot comment on what I don’t know.”
On the ongoing tussle between old and new APC members, he said: “I don’t comment on things that do not bother me my brother; one thing I want to take is one, Okowa did not discuss with me nothing of directing so that is just fake news and that’s all.”
