Stars Shine At DELSU Face Of Campus And Award Night

The Civic Center in Abraka was set aglow on the 25th of June, 2025 as Delta State University, DELSU, Abraka, witnessed an electrifying celebration of student creativity, beauty, and excellence at the 2025 Students Union Government (SUG) Open Talent Hunt and Award Night.

It was a night of elegance, performance, recognition, and surprise, a fitting culmination of campus vibrancy and youthful brilliance.

Though the SUG President, Augustine Onovughegor, was unavoidably absent, his leadership legacy was firmly acknowledged as he received an Award of Service, one among several prestigious awards presented to students, communities, and notable individuals whose impact continues to shape the university experience.

The audience erupted in cheers and admiration as Queen Asuai was crowned Face of Campus DELSU 2025, standing out among 12 confident and dazzling female contenders. Her reign was closely trailed by Udenna Chinasa and Favour Mukoro, who claimed the 1st and 2nd Runner-Up spots respectively.

Modeling prowess was celebrated too, as Ogagaoghene Melody dazzled both the runway and judges to earn the Top Model title. Among male contenders, Anochie Emmanuel was crowned Most Popular Male, reflecting the voice of the people and the impact of their influence on campus.

The event wasn’t just about beauty and charisma, it was a vibrant blend of culture, enterprise, and entertainment.

Performers like Son of God and Georgeoblinco had the audience on their feet with electrifying sets, proving once again that DELSU students are not just scholars but entertainers and creators of note.

Taking the night into the world of fashion was Yosmeh Apparel, whose runway showcase stunned the audience with bold, diverse, and innovative pieces, drawing applause for its creativity and execution.

In an unexpected moment that left many stunned and grateful, Leo’s Drive announced and executed a generous ₦200,000 cash giveaway to random attendees with some specified tasks on the basis of who finished first. The act was received with shouts of joy and became one of the evening’s most talked-about highlights, reinforcing the event’s spirit of giving and celebration.

Recognition was a key pillar of the night, with several distinguished awards presented to deserving students and groups:
