Jaro Egbo Enforces State Monthly Environmental Sanitation Exercise In Ughelli North LGA

…Urges Residents, Commuters To Always Comply With Government Environmental Directives During Sanitation Exercises

The Executive Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Council, Olorogun (Barr) Jaro Movudu Egbo Ksc, led the team of Council Officials, Environmental marshalls and security personnel to observe and monitor the monthly general environmental sanitation exercise in Ughelli North Local Government Area on Saturday.

The exercise focused majorly on sweeping of the dirty Otovwodo market, desilting of blocked drainages across the Ughelli metropolis and evacuation of illegal structures along the East-West road between Otovwodo junction and God’s Own Hotel axis among others.

While addressing pressmen during the exercise, Olorogun Jaro Egbo, stressed that the exercise was necessary because of the negligence of some traders and market women who enjoy trading in a hazardous environment thereby causing danger to lives, adding that it is the duty of the government to ensure that they clean their surroundings and maintain a healthy environment.

The Chairman maintained that the Ughelli North environmental sanitation exercise is a regular activity aimed at ensuring the communities are clean, safe and free from diseases.

“Our kind of environmental sanitation is not just a monthly thing, but a routine activity here in Ughelli North, because we always do a follow up of our activities to ensure that Ughelli North is clean, safe and healthy for all,” Egbo stated.

The council boss, encouraged residents to always clean their environment at all time, desilt their drainages to avert flooding and outbreak of diseases and to always comply with government environmental laws.

He also urged commuters and travelers to always obey government directives by observing the environmental sanitation exercise which runs between the hour of 7:00am to 10:00am on environmental days.

As part of the Chairman’s campaign promise, this initiative aims to ensure Ughelli North Local Government is clean, safer, flood-free and disease-free, ensuring residents, visitors and commuters enjoy healthy and comfortable living conditions.
