Meet Urhobo Nation’s First Deputy Inspector General Of Police, Marvel Enajero Akpoyibo

DIG Marvel Enajero Akpoyibo Esq. NPM, MCIArb, mni. LLB, LLM, OON, was born on 15 January 1954 and hails from Ugono-Orogun. Marvel attended L. A. Primary School, Ugono-Orogun; Orogun Grammar School, Orogun; the University of Benin, Benin City; the University of Lagos, Akoka, Lagos; Nigerian Law School, Bwari. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D program at the University of Abuja.

Enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force as a Cadet ASP in 1980, he had a special promotion to the rank of Superintendent of Police in 1986. He was promoted to the rank of Commissioner of Police in 2008 and had a special and double promotion from the rank of a CP to the rank of Deputy Inspector-General of Police in 2012. Owing to his elevation, he was the DIG in charge of the Training Department at the Force Headquarters, Abuja, a position he effectively held until he retired from service.
Before being a DIG, Marvel served as a Divisional Crime Officer, Divisional Traffic Officer, Divisional Police Officer in various Commands, including being an Area Commander. He also served in the Force CID, including serving as Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Administration in various Zonal Command Headquarters. He retired meritoriously from active service, having attained the statutory age of retirement in January 2014.
