Growth Recorded In UNIDEL Since Inception, Product Of Collective Efforts Of DTSG, Management, Others

The Vice Chancellor of University of Delta, Agbor, Prof (Mrs) Stella Chinye Chiemeke, has declared that the appreciable growth recorded in the university since inception, four years ago, is the product of collective efforts of the Delta State Government, management, staff, students, host communities and other stakeholders.

The Vice Chancellor stated this on Monday, September 1, 2025, during the September Edition of UNIDEL Monthly Intercessory Prayer Series in Agbor Campus.

Prof (Mrs) Chiemeke particularly thanked all staff of the University for supporting her management team in many areas including in prayers.

She stressed that the UNIDEL Monthly Intercessory Prayer programme was conceived to provide fora for all stakeholders within the university community to come together and seek the intervention of God in the interest of the university and the personal lives and endeavours of staff and students.

The Vice Chancellor called on members of the university community to continue to pray so that the growth being witnessed in the university will be replicated in the lives of staff and students individually and collectively.

In a brief exhortation during the ceremony tagged: “The Power of the Tongue”, Mr Best Ugala, called on members of the university community and the general public to imbibe the culture of using their tongues to praise God, commend people who are doing well, and to lovingly and constructively correct wrongdoers.

He equally charged all to speak words that will unite families, friends, the university community and the society at large, while refraining from gossip, backbiting, cursing as well as unhealthy and destructive criticisms, which he noted were destructive to humanity.

The prayer programme which featured prayers for the peace and prosperity of Delta State as it clocked thirty-four years, was also attended by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof (Mrs) Patricia Etuna Mbah, the Registrar, Barr Richmond Omagbemi, other principal officers, deans, staff and students.
