Killer Of Jerry Aduara Should Not Go Scot-free – Owhotemu 11

HRM Dr Morris Ogheneochuko Eyekpimi- Egboboyen, the Orosuen (traditional ruler) of Okere Urhobo Kingdom, in Warri South Local Government Area has stated that the killer of one of his subject, Jerry Aduara should not go Scot-free.
The traditional ruler stressed that the Okere Urhobo people indeed the Warri Urhobo will continue to press for justice over the wilful murder of Jerry Aduara, a member of Warri South Local Government Council Peace Committee who allegedly was shot at and killed by Itsekiri militants.
The Okere Urhobo monarch stated all these in his keynote address during the condolence visit of some executive of Urhobo Progress Union ( UPU) Worldwide on Monday, 6th October, 2025.
Owhotemu 11 recalled that the late Jerry Aduara was on a peace mission during the alleged harassment of Itsekiri militants on Odion Urhobo people who he said were serving their ancestors and deities.
He narrated that other indigenes of the indigenous Urhobo of Odion also sustained injuries during the unprovoked attacks of the Itsekiri militants allegedly in the presence of security agents.
The Orosuen of Okere Urhobo Kingdom had averred that the people of Odion Urhobo Community, his ancestral home took permission from security agents and the Warri South Local Government Peace Committee and that they were guaranteed of peace and security during and after the serving of their deities and ancestors.

The aggrieved traditional ruler further stated that the situation must have gone out of control but for his intervention against retaliation by his subjects who listened to him over the issue.
The Okere Urhobo monarch who stressed that it was not the first time the Okere Urhobo Kingdom was being attacked by Itsekiri militants, stated that nothing was done to the Itsekiri militants over their previous attacks.
He therefore called on Governor Sheriff Francis Oborevwori and the Inspector of General of Police to apprehend and prosecute the Itsekiri militants on their unprovoked attracts on Odion Urhobo Community.
Owhotemu 11 had earlier thanked the UPU for the visit as he remarked that it was a show of its concern for the Okere Urhobo Kingdom and indeed Warri Urhobos.
The Urhobo Progress Union ( UPU) Worldwide led by its 2nd Deputy Vice President General, Chief Abel Opuidi had in his address, explained that the visit was to commiserate with Okere Urhobo People over the killing of Jerry Aduara by Itsekiri militants.
He remarked that the late Jerry Aduara was a patriotic son of Okere Urhobo Kingdom who served the kingdom and indeed the Warri Urhobos with all his heart and that he was allegedly killed while performing his role as a member of Warri South Local Government Council Peace Committee.
He then on behalf of UPU Worldwide added his voice to the call for the apprehension and prosecution of the killer of Aduara and other Itsekiri militants in the unprovoked attracts on Odion Urhobo Community.
He prayed that God should grant the Okere Urhobo Kingdom and indeed the Warri Urhobos the fortitude to bear the great loss.
He also on called the Itsekiris to embrace peace in Warri as he painfully noted that the previous infamous Warri ethnic crisis adversely affected the socio – economic life of the area till date.
The slained Jerry Aduara until his death was former two time youth chairman of Odion Urhobo Community and lived in Otovwodo (Agbassa) Warri Community in Warri South Local Government Area.
