Agbatutu Hails Onobrakpeya For Organizing Harmattan Workshop

The Proprietress of the famous St Anastasia Heights School, Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area, Chief (Mrs) Anastasia Onisuru Agbatutu has hailed Professor Bruce Onobrakpeya for organizing an harmattan workshop for Nigerians at Agbarha – Otor, Ughelli North Local Government Area.
The renowned Uvwie born educationist cum counselor made the commendation in a media chat with our correspondent shortly on arrival from the venue of the workshop where she went on excursion with pupils, students and teachers of her school on Thursday, 26th February, 2026.
She also appreciated Professor GG Darah for giving her school the invitation to the workshop.
The esteemed Uvwie chief who described Professor Onobrakpeya as a living legend, noted that the workshop afforded learners in her school to see the practical aspects of what they were thought in creative arts, adding that the positive impact of the workshop on the learners will enhance the economy of the country on completion of their studies.
She disclosed that the workshop is an annual event and that this year’s harmattan workshop was held between February 15th – 17th.
Agbatutu also noted that the two weeks annual workshop offered participants live in experience for artists to engage in studio practice, mentorship, and creative experimentation.

She further noted that one of purposes of the workshop is to foster African creativity, technical excellence, and intergenerational knowledge transfer.
“The workshop is structured as a living laboratory, offering intensive sessions in various art disciplines, including painting, sculpture, and printmaking, often featuring experimental techniques,” she added.
Agbatutu gladly noted that the children were excited as she said that they had hand experience with some great artists.
Learners as well as teachers of the school, who also spoke to our correspondent in the media chat, corroborated the attestation of Chief Agbatutu.
