Advocate Publication To Host 3rd Lecture Series On Governance Challenges In Nigeria Thursday

Advocate Publication Limited, publishers of Advocate Newspaper, is set to host the third edition of its annual Advocate Lecture Series on Thursday, April 16, 2026, in Ughelli, Delta State.

The event, which is expected to attract key stakeholders from across the political, academic, and media landscape, will take place at Wetland Hotel by 10:00 a.m.

This year’s lecture is themed “From Ballot to Patronage: Why Electoral Victory Fails to Deliver Good Governance in Nigeria,” a topic aimed at addressing the persistent gap between electoral success and effective governance in the country.

Renowned international conference speaker and good governance advocate, Dr. Charles Apoki, will deliver the keynote address, providing insights into Nigeria’s democratic process and leadership challenges.

The Chairman of the occasion, a renowned scholar and community leader, Professor Patrick Muoboghare, is expected to lead discussions alongside distinguished personalities, including the Special Guest of Honour, Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori.

Other notable dignitaries billed to attend as Guests of Honour include the Senator representing Delta Central, Ede Dafinone and business mogul, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor.

The lecture will also feature contributions from guest discussants such as Omemiroro Ogedegbe, Omosetemi Agbede-Zuokumor, and Monday Ogheneruona Itoghor.
