DELSU Set To Hold 18th Convocation Ceremony For 2024/2025 Graduands

Delta State University, Abraka (DELSU) has announced plans to hold its 18th convocation ceremony for the award of diplomas, admission into first degrees, conferment of higher degrees, and presentation of prizes for the 2024/2025 academic session.
The ceremony will feature a series of activities designed to celebrate graduating students and honour distinguished individuals.
According to a bulletin issued on Wednesday by the Public Relations Unit of the Directorate of Ceremonials, Information and Public Relations, Vice-Chancellor’s Office, activities will commence with a Jumat prayer for Muslim members of the DELSU community on Friday, April 24, 2026.
This will be followed by a pre-convocation thanksgiving service on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at St. Paul Catholic Chaplaincy, Site II, Abraka Campus, beginning at 8:30 a.m.
As part of the programme, the Vice-Chancellor will hold a media chat with journalists on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at 10 a.m., to be followed by a novelty match at 4 p.m.
On Wednesday, April 29, 2026, the convocation lecture and convocation drama will take place at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., respectively.
Other scheduled activities include a Founder’s Day thanksgiving service at the Convocation Arena, Site III, Abraka Campus, on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at 10 a.m., alongside an arts exhibition at 2 p.m. and Alumni Day at 4 p.m.

The grand finale of the ceremony will hold on Saturday, May 2, 2026, featuring the award of diplomas, first degrees and higher degrees, investiture of Professor Emeritus, conferment of honorary degrees, and presentation of prizes.
Parents, guardians, and invited guests have been advised to be seated at the venue before 9 a.m. on the convocation day.
“The Vice-Chancellor congratulates all graduands, parents, stakeholders, and the entire university community on the occasion of the 18th convocation ceremony,” the statement added.
Meanwhile, graduating students have been directed to collect their academic gowns and scrolls between Monday, April 20 and Thursday, April 30, 2026.
