Ethiope East APC Leaders Meet, Endorse Akpowowo For DTHA Poll

Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State on Sunday, April 12, 2026, held their first post-congress stakeholders’ meeting in Eku, reaffirming their commitment to party unity and strategic growth.

The meeting, which brought together key stakeholders and party faithful, focused on consolidating gains from the recently concluded congresses and charting a forward-looking course for the party in the area.

In his opening remarks, the Ethiope East APC Leader, Bennerd Edewor, commended members for their turnout, describing the gathering as a critical step in repositioning the party for future success.

He urged leaders to close ranks and work collaboratively to strengthen the party’s structure, stressing that unity remains essential to achieving electoral victories.

Edewor also advocated regular engagement among stakeholders, proposing monthly meetings to enhance coordination, deepen internal cohesion, and sustain strategic planning within the party.

Speaking in the same vein, the Ethiope East APC Chairman, Midwest Iboyitete, expressed satisfaction with the level of participation.

He, however, apologized to members who received late notifications or were inadvertently left out, assuring that communication gaps would be addressed going forward.

A major highlight of the meeting was the unanimous endorsement of Arthur Akpowowo, Deputy Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, following his recent consultation with party leaders in the area.

The endorsement signaled strong confidence in his leadership, with stakeholders affirming him as a preferred candidate and a central figure in the party’s future political direction in Ethiope East.

The meeting concluded with a renewed resolve by party leaders to promote unity, intensify grassroots mobilization, and work collectively toward strengthening the APC’s electoral prospects in the local government area.
