Umiaghwa-Abraka Kingdom Celebrates HRM Lucky Ararile, As Monarch Clocks 14 Years On The Throne

Umiaghwa-Abraka Kingdom in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State, on Sunday celebrated the 14th coronation anniversary of His Royal Majesty (Air Vice Marshall) Lucky Ochuko Ararile (Rtd) Avwaeke I, who clocked 14 years on the throne.

As part of activities lined up for the day, the traditional ruler led the kingdom in thanksgiving to God at First Baptist Church, Oria, for the peaceful reign and development strides that have occurred since he ascended the throne.

After the church service, two of the four Ruling Houses, Ovwodo and Oviedo paid homage separately to the king at his palace and that of Orhuabor and Eseme/Urhuagbesa scheduled for Monday.

Speaking after the visits on Sunday, the monarch thanked the community for their gifts, just as he hinted that despite the much progress in the kingdom, more projects were still to come.

According to him, the administration of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has done much for Umiaghwa-Abraka kingdom, but they are asking for more to be done in the area.

The king called on indigenes to continue to promote the kingdom, while he prayed for God’s favour for more to be done for them by those in power.

Furthermore, he said that after Ekresheme street is tarred, the next road to be done will be that from Udumere to the railway.

On electricity, Ararile said power has improved, but asked those in the kingdom yet to get their lights restored to inform him.

Continuing, he said the road from Salubi to the Grammar School will be done by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

Speaking further, he disclosed that a solar generating facility will soon be sited in Oria, saying Uruagbesa community has already provided land for the project, stating that soon the paper work will be completed for the company to begin operation in the area.

The Ovie said the light generated from the company will not only be used by Abraka, saying Obiaruku and Orogun will benefit from the arrangement.

The monarch also urged those that want to site companies in the kingdom to feel free to approach him, saying land will be given to them with two-year duration to develop it or have the land revoked.

HRM Ararile also donated the sum of 10, 000 dollars towards the building of a new palace to cost two billion naira.

Speaking exclusively to Oasis Magazine, the Secretary to the Traditional Council, Chief Basil Iwhiwhu, described the event as a joyous one.

He said the ruling houses decided to pay homage to the king considering his good works for 14 years.

In his words, all communities now have portable water to drink, some with good roads and electricity.

He added: “Youths have been empowered and this has curtailed excesses of the youths and there is peace in Abraka that can be relied on to bring peace and development to Umiaghwa-Abraka kingdom.”

He prayed that God continues to give the monarch wisdom and knowledge to pilot the affairs of the kingdom.

On his part, Chairman of the Anniversary Planning Committee, Pastor Festus Egwhrudje, thanked all that made the event a success, while applauding the generous presentations of the ruling houses to the king.
