APC Primaries: Committees Mandated To Declare Results, Not Winners — Natn'l Chairman

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Nentawe Yilwatda, has clarified that committees set up for the party’s primary elections were only mandated to announce results and not declare winners.

Yilwatda made the clarification during a chat with Seun Okinbaloye in a prerecorded exclusive interview aired on Monday on Politics Today on Channelstv.com.

According to him, the role of the election committees was limited to collating and announcing results from the primaries, while the authority to officially declare winners rests with the appropriate party organs.

He hinted that final winners would be announced by the party in the coming days after reviewing petitions and appeals submitted by aspirants dissatisfied with the outcome of the primaries.
