Oborevwori Commissions DESOPADEC-Built Police Station in Ndokwa, Launches Aboh–Akarai Road

Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Oborevwori in company of the Managing Director/CEO of DESOPADEC, Chief Festus Ochonogor and the Member representing Ndowka ethnic nationality on the Board of the Commission, Dr. Charles Olisa today Wednesday May 6, 2026 commissioned a newly constructed ultra-modern Police station as well as performed the groundbreaking of the construction of an 11km Aboh-Akarai Road project in Ndokwa East Local Government Area.

The twin events drew a large gathering of Ndokwa leaders, traditional rulers and residents who hailed the projects as a turning point for connectivity and public safety in the area.

Speaking at the groundbreaking, Governor Oborevwori said the road project aligns with his administration’s M.O.R.E Agenda which prioritizes Meaningful Development, Opportunities for all, Realistic Reforms, and Enhanced Peace and Security.

He noted that rural infrastructure remains central to unlocking the economic potential of the State’s oil-producing communities.

At the commissioning of the police station project which was executed by DESOPADEC, the Governor said the facility would bolster the capacity of security agencies to respond swiftly to incidents and protect lives and property and urged residents to cooperate with law enforcement agencies to maintain peace in the area.

Chief Ochonogor reaffirmed DESOPADEC’s mandate to deliver impactful projects in oil-producing areas, stressing that the Commission remains committed to complementing the State government’s development drive.

Dr. Charles Olisa who spoke on behalf of the Ndokwa people, described the intervention as timely and transformative.

“This project is critical to the people of Ndokwa Nation. It demonstrates a commitment to opening up our communities and improving the quality of life for our people. We are deeply grateful to Governor Oborevwori for delivering this legacy infrastructure,” he said.

Community leaders and stakeholders at the event commended the Governor for sustained investment in the region and pledged their support for the continued implementation of developmental programmes.

The Aboh-Akarai Road and the new police station stand as tangible evidence of the Delta State Government’s focus on bridging the rural-urban infrastructure gap while strengthening public safety across the State.
