Okpe/Sapele/Uvwie HoRs Seat: NAPPS State Secretary, Rose Obi, Emerges Accord Candidate

The Accord has concluded its peace primary election for the House of Representatives ahead of the forthcoming general elections, with several candidates emerging through a consensus process monitored by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Asaba, Delta State.

Among those who emerged from the exercise is Dr. (Mrs.) Rose Elohor Obi, who secured the party’s ticket to contest for the Okpe/Sapele/Uvwie Federal Constituency seat.

Her emergence was widely applauded by party faithful and supporters present at the primary.

Dr. Obi currently serves as the State Secretary of the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS) and also doubles as the State Coordinator of the South South Women Empowerment Forum.

Her emergence is seen by many as a boost for women participation and grassroots representation in Delta politics.

Other candidates returned during the primary election include Henry Ifechukwu Ofili for Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency, Felix Okei for Ndokwa/Ukwani Federal Constituency, and Peter Agbigbe for Ethiope Federal Constituency.

Party officials described the primary as peaceful, transparent and successful, noting that the consensus arrangement reflected unity and mutual understanding among party stakeholders across the state.
