Prof. Tonukari Makes Historic Maiden Visit To Gbaregolor Campus Of Delta State Maritime Polytechnic
The Honourable Commissioner for Higher Education, Prof. Nyerhovwo Tonukari, made his maiden official visit to the Gbaregolor campus of the Delta State Maritime Polytechnic since taking office.
During the visit, he assured the community and the school management that they would soon feel the presence of the state government. He further noted that this is in line with the MORE agenda of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, who recently approved the construction of a new hostel for the polytechnic’s main campus in Burutu.
The Executive Chairman of Ughelli South Local Government Area, Hon. Dr. Lucky Avweromre (JP), warmly welcomed the Commissioner and urged him to prioritize rapid development of the Gbaregolor campus, emphasizing that the institution means a great deal to the people of Ughelli South and Delta Central.
Adding to the call for action, the APC Chairman for Delta South Senatorial District, Chief Emmanuel Amgbaduba, also urged the Commissioner to act fast, citing his personal connection as a son of the Gbaregolor community.

Earlier in his opening remarks, the Rector of Delta State Maritime Polytechnic, Burutu, Prof. James Okoro, welcomed the Commissioner to the campus.
In the same vein, the President General of the Gbaregolor Federated communities, Pastor Peter Avwenayeri Udoma, expressed gratitude to the Commissioner for finding time to visit their community to see things for himself.
