Dickson Unites Delta NDC Stakeholders, Backs Chris Iyovwaye For Governor

The leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Chief Henry Seriake Dickson (HSD), has announced the successful resolution of several post-primary election disputes in Delta State, describing the development as a major step toward the commencement of the party’s electioneering activities and campaigns across the state and the South-South region.

Speaking after a series of consultations, meetings, reconciliation engagements and consensus-building efforts, Dickson said a stakeholders’ meeting he convened for Delta State leaders produced significant breakthroughs in addressing issues arising from the party’s primaries.

According to him, the resolutions reached have laid a solid foundation for party unity and effective campaign preparations ahead of the forthcoming elections.

Dickson commended stakeholders for demonstrating maturity, understanding and a strong sense of responsibility throughout the reconciliation process. He urged party members in other states to emulate the Delta example, noting that disagreements following primaries should be resolved through dialogue and teamwork rather than prolonged disputes.

He particularly praised all Delta State governorship aspirants for agreeing to work together in support of the party’s candidate, Deacon Chris Iyovwaye, who emerged from the primary process.

Describing Iyovwaye as an accomplished businessman with extensive exposure, experience and educational qualifications, Dickson expressed confidence in his ability to provide effective leadership for Delta State.

“Deacon Chris possesses the qualities required to serve the people of Delta State effectively as governor,” he stated, while calling on party members and supporters to unite behind the candidate ahead of his formal unveiling.

The NDC leader also expressed confidence in the calibre of the party’s governorship candidates nationwide, saying they represent a new generation of capable leaders committed to delivering quality governance.

He added that the party’s South-South leadership remains determined to eliminate what he described as leadership failures and divisive politics, insisting that competence and experience must take precedence in public service.

Meanwhile, Dickson disclosed that he hosted a Pre-NEC Meeting ahead of the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting scheduled to hold at the party’s National Secretariat.

He explained that the informal gathering has become a tradition within the party, providing an opportunity for members of the National Working Committee and state chairmen to interact ahead of formal deliberations.

During the reception, he thanked party officials across the country for their sacrifice, commitment and dedication to the growth of the NDC.

Reflecting on the party’s journey, Dickson noted that members had collectively overcome enormous challenges, including securing party registration, conducting voter registration exercises, organizing congresses and successfully concluding primaries within a short period.

He recalled that since February, party leaders and members had worked tirelessly through meetings, consultations and strategic engagements aimed at building the NDC into a credible national political platform.

Dickson urged state chairmen and national officers to remain focused and committed as the party prepares for the NEC meeting and the next phase of its political activities ahead of the elections.Alternative headline options:
