Integrity Group Appoints Evelyn Oboro As Senior Political Adviser In Delta

WARRI – The Delta State Chapter of the Integrity Group of Nigeria (Renewed Hope For More Agenda and You Matter Charity Foundation Ambassadors) has appointed former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. (Barr.) Evelyn Omavowan Oboro, as its Senior Political Adviser.

The appointment, according to the leadership of the group, is part of efforts to strengthen its political structure and enhance strategic engagement across the state.

Oboro, a former lawmaker who represented Okpe/Sapele/Uvwie Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives between 2011 and 2019, is expected to bring her vast experience in governance, administration and public service to bear in her new role.

In a statement issued by the Delta State Chapter of the Integrity Group of Nigeria, the group described Oboro as a distinguished political leader, legal practitioner and administrator whose contributions to public service have earned her recognition within and beyond Delta State.

The group noted that Oboro has held several key positions in government, including Commissioner for Water Resources Development, Special Adviser to the Governor on DESOPADEC Matters, Chairman of Uvwie Local Government Council, and member of the Delta State Waste Management Board.

It added that her appointment was informed by her wealth of experience, leadership qualities and commitment to good governance.

“Hon. Evelyn Oboro possesses the capacity, competence and political experience required to provide strategic guidance to the organisation as it continues to expand its activities across Delta State and beyond,” the statement said.

Responding to the appointment, Oboro expressed appreciation to the leadership of the Integrity Group of Nigeria for the confidence reposed in her.

She pledged to support the vision and objectives of the organisation, particularly in the areas of political education, leadership development, grassroots mobilisation and the promotion of integrity-driven governance.

A lawyer and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, Oboro holds a Master of Laws (LL.M) degree and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Delta State University, Abraka.

She also served as Chairman of the House Committee on Women in Parliament during her tenure in the National Assembly and remains one of the prominent female political leaders from Delta State.

The Integrity Group of Nigeria said her appointment takes immediate effect and expressed optimism that her experience and leadership would contribute significantly to the growth of the organisation and the advancement of its ideals.
