Panic As Students’ Hostel Near Federal Polytechnic Oko Collapses
A three-storey students’ hostel reportedly collapsed late Sunday night along Amaokpala Old Road in Oko, Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra State, triggering panic among students and residents.
The building, identified as Elite Lodge, is located near the Federal Polytechnic, Oko. Reports indicate that the structure is a 60-room apartment used as students’ accommodation.
Rescue operations are currently ongoing as emergency responders, security personnel, and local volunteers work tirelessly to search the rubble for possible victims. As of the time of filing this report, the number of occupants affected by the collapse has not been ascertained, while the cause of the incident also remains unknown.
