Old Student Appeals To Oborevwori, Ethiope East Chairman For Urgent Renovation Of Abraka Grammar School

An old student of Abraka Grammar School, Philip E., has made a passionate appeal to Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Orohwedor Oborevwori, and the Chairman of Ethiope East Local Government Council, Hon. Chief Augustine Usinefe Ogedegbe (JP), to urgently intervene in the deteriorating condition of the school’s infrastructure.

In an open letter dated July 27, 2026, the former student expressed concern over the deplorable state of the school, noting that the poor learning environment has made academic activities difficult for students.

According to him, many classroom buildings have leaking roofs, while several classrooms lack windows, exposing both students and teachers to harsh weather conditions. He also lamented the shortage of desks and chairs, revealing that many students are compelled to sit on the floor during lessons.

He stated that the poor state of the facilities poses serious risks to the health, safety, and academic performance of the students, stressing that they deserve a conducive environment in which to learn and develop their full potential.

Philip appealed to the Delta State Government and the Ethiope East Local Government Council to provide funds for the renovation of the classrooms, replacement of damaged roofs, installation of windows, and provision of adequate desks and chairs.

He expressed confidence in Governor Oborevwori’s commitment to improving education across the state and urged the authorities to give the appeal urgent attention in the interest of the students and the future of education in Abraka.

The letter concluded with a call for swift government intervention, expressing hope that the request would receive favourable consideration.
