Substitution Primary: Dema Emerges Labour Party Candidate In Delta Central

Olorogun Onome Bernice Dema has emerged as the Labour Party’s candidate for the Delta Central Senatorial District following the party’s substitution primary election held in Ughelli, Delta State.

The primary election was conducted on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at the party’s designated centre in Ughelli as part of the Labour Party’s preparations for the forthcoming elections.

The exercise was witnessed by the Chairman of the Election Committee, Chief Tiro Prince; the Delta State Chairman of the Labour Party, Comr. Mrs. Mirable Moke David; and a representative of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

At the conclusion of the voting and counting of ballots, Dema secured the highest number of votes to emerge as the winner of the substitution primary.

Her emergence puts her in the position to fly the Labour Party’s flag in the Delta Central Senatorial District, subject to the completion of the relevant party and electoral processes.
