Sapele Constituency: DTHA Aspirant, Tuedor Dumps APC, Shops For Fresh Political Party

-Says APC Primaries Were A Sham

An aspirant for the Delta State House of Assembly seat in Sapele Constituency, Barr. Akpevwe Jackson Tuedor, has dumped the All Progressives Congress, APC, days after the party’s primaries, saying that in 48 hours he would declare the new political platform he would be using to pursue his political ambition to represent the area, come 2019.

Barr. Tuedor disclosed this during a press briefing yesterday in Sapele, adding that this move was his ‘Plan B’ to pursue his political dream, and that he “cannot be a part of a manipulated system which plays out in APC in the area.”

According to him, he remains the best man for the job and was optimistic that his defection would result in a mass exodus of APC members from the party.

He said: “I have taken my decision to officially leave the APC in pursuit of my political dreams and aspirations. I do not want to be known as an APC member anymore. I have valid reasons for this decision.

“I am in talks with some parties and they are aware of how I was tactically denied the ticket in APC. I have supporters in Sapele across party lines and come February, 2019, my name would be on the ballot box.”

Describing the primaries of APC for the Delta State House of Assembly in the area as a sham, he added that he was shocked to find out that fake materials were brought to the venue of the said election, stressing that Hon. Moses Ogodo was more concerned about winning the primaries than the general elections.

He continued: “Hon. Ogodo threatened to kill me, the Director of my Campaign and my Head of Media if we ever showed up at the venue for the primaries. I actually wore a bullet proof when I went to the venue for the primaries that held in the middle of the night.

“The primaries took place at Amukpe, the home of Moses Ogodo. As at 1.30 a.m., there still were no materials. Chuks Erhirhe was said to be the INEC staff on duty that night. Remember, Chuks is the Director of the campaign organization of Ovie Omo-Agege. Is Omo-Agege trying to impose a candidate on Sapele APC?

“The police even denied knowledge of the primaries taking place that day. Also, the known delegates of the party that were on ground to vote were not up to five. The primaries they organised by the party were just to make it look like it was legitimate. It was a charade.”

Continuing, he opined that the party structure in the locality has been hijacked by a few who are using it for their selfish interests, saying that “aspirants should not be victims of the egoistical battle for supremacy at the state level between some APC members.”

He said: “I have decided not to waste my time fighting legal battles with APC, and thus decided to dump the party. Imagine, I was even told that because I belonged to the other faction that I was not even cleared for the primaries.”

He called on the people of Sapele to be strong and ready to exercise their rights to vote next year during the general elections.
