UPU Mourns Demise Of Major Gen. David Ejoor

The Urhobo Progress Union, UPU, has expressed shock over the death of
Major Gen. David Akpode Ejoor.
In a press release, the group said: “The entire Urhobo nation is grieved by this great loss of their son, Major Gen. David Ejoor who served this nation meritoriously and without blemish as the first Military Governor of the then Mid-Western State, and rising to the pinnacle of his career as the Chief of Staff of the Nigerian Army.
“His contributions to the unity and progress of the Urhobo nation in various capacities, most importantly as the President-General of the Urhobo Progress Union, UPU, remains deep seated with the Urhobo nation and people.
“We console the immediate family, and assure them that the entire Urhobo nation is with them in this period of grief.”
UPU, while promising to play an active role in the burial arrangement of Chief David Ejoor, added that they would ensure that he is giving a befitting burial worthy of an illustrious Urhobo son.
They urged all in Urhobo land to take solace in the fact that Maj. Gen. David Ejoor lived a remarkable life.
Meanwhile, the President General of UPU, Worldwide, Chief Joe Omene, has led a high-powered delegation in a condolence visit to the family of the deceased.
