29th Anniversary: UPU Youthwing President Felicitates With Deltans

President, Urhobo Progress Union, UPU, Youthwing, Worldwide, Comrade Efemena Umukoro, has felicitated with Deltans on the state’s 29th anniversary celebration.

In a statement made available to journalists, the youth leader said that though there is still much room for improvement, the state has witnessed some level of progress, as he urged the Okowa-led adminstration to double its efforts in ensuring that the ‘SMART Agenda’ and the ‘Prosperity to all Deltans’ arrangement was experienced by majority of Deltans.

According to him, Delta State has all it takes to be one of the best states in terms of infrastructure and in the area if economy among other things.

Furthermore, he called on all Deltans to continue to contribute their own quota in moving the state forward, saying that there is no place like home.

He continued: “If everyone one of us does what is right even though no one sees us and individually contribute our own quota, the state will work again.

While also congratulating and commending past leaders for their contributions to making the state great, he adviced the political class to remember that “we are first Deltans before politics.”

“We should be able to work together as a team and forgive ourselves.

“Only through peace we will be able to achieve the Delta State we envisage and hope for,” he averred.

To the youths, he appealed to them to stay away from crime and criminality so that investors can be attracted to the oil-rich state to join hands with the adminstration to help push the state into greatness.

He said: “It’s important the youths stay away from activities that will out the state in a bad light.”

He added: “Urhobo Nation just like Urhobo youths are committed to the progress of the state. I call on all other ethnic nationalities to continue to do same too as they have always done.”

“The peace we enjoy in the state is very commendable and we believe we still can improve on this.

“Deltans must not give up. The best is yet to come,” he opined.
