The Chairman of Ethiope East Local Government Council, Mrs Faith Majemite, has frowned at the disposal of refuse in the front of the Abraka Main Market.

The chairman made her displeasure known during a meeting she held with Abraka Market Committee and traders of the market at the council secretariat, Isiokolo, headquarters of the local government.

Majemite said that dumping refuse in front of the market was unethical and unacceptable behavior, saying that such practice did not tell well of the people in the market and was capable of putting them in bad light before visitors.

While appreciating the market committee for good works done in the past, she called on it to put a stop to the practice and ensure the market was kept clean at all times.

According to her, a clean market would not only encourage customers and visitors from far and near to patronize the traders but would also promote the healthy well-being of users of the market.
