Delta State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education has organised a one-day training workshop for examination officers drawn from the various public schools in the state and other education stakeholders in the ministry.

Declaring the workshop open, the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Mr Patrick Ukah said that in line with the dynamism of the society, information and communication technology (ICT) had become the order of the day.
Ukah, who noted that secondary schools in the past, were finding it difficult to generate results for a large number of students, stated that manual processing of students’ results was very tedious, time consuming and contributed to issues of missing scores.
He commended the State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa for employing the services of Bronzebit Consult for the provision of online result to all students in public secondary schools in the state.
While saying that the computerised results processing system would ensure speed in delivering the result and ease processing, Mr Ukah said that computing trends would ensure cost digital storage of information, rapid transmission of data across computer networks and processing of electronic document and information.
The commissioner, who enjoined participants to take the training seriously, urged them to replicate the initiative in their colleagues by training them.
