I’m Yet To Recover From Ekwueme’s Acceptance — Prospa Ochimana
Rising gospel star, Prospa Ochimana, who gained national eminence with the release of his single, ‘Ekwueme’, disclosed to host of #WithChude and founder of Joy, Inc., Chude Jideonwo, that he produced the song that brought his fame for free – a kind gesture by a music producer who offered his service free of charge.
The revelation came in an hour-long Instagram Live session that is part of the conversation series with worship leaders titled The Worship Playlist.
“Ekwueme was produced free of charge,” he said in response to a question about how he managed to attain the quality of production that characterizes his songs to date.
“SonnyP produced Ekwueme. He called me and just said, “I want to do a song for you.” I didn’t know him.”
Ironically, Prospa agreed that SonnyP produce Ekwueme for him because it was one of those songs he didn’t trust so much.

“The reception surprised him and still does today.
“I am yet to recover,” he commented.
“Ebenezer also produced part of that project for me on credit,” he disclosed, adding: “I have never said that anywhere else.”
The rising star has been very careful to separate his private life from his professional one, the live conversation on #WithChude being a rare opportunity to open up.
